International students are welcome and come from all over the world to Vision College. Vision College is a division of ATC New Zealand which was formed in 1984. It offers a unique Christian-based environment for study. Christian values of care, honour and respect are part of our culture and are all designed to help learners excel. People of all religions and cultures are most welcome to study at Vision College.

Information Technology is a rapidly growing industry, and web and software developers are in high demand (Refer to MBIE Occupation Outlook). The NZ Diploma in Software Development (Level 6) is a two-year "Full-Stack" information technology course that will prepare you for entry into the IT industry.

The first year of the diploma focuses on Web Development and Design, teaching you basic coding skill - the languages used behind most websites today, PHP, SQL and JavaScript, developed within a responsive framework, which can render to all devices. The final project will require you to design a fully functional website that integrates a database for collecting and outputting information with front-end and back-end capabilities. This includes a user to login and logout with different access rights, per user, and have all forms validated for errors. Students who decide to only complete this first year will receive a Diploma in Web Development and Design (Level 5).

The second year develops your coding skills and leads to creating immersive websites in ASP.NET Core 2, using cutting-edge technologies. Along the way, we will cover database integration, write clean code in C#, and use Object Orientated Programming principles. All skills you need for any career in Software Engineering. We also create mobile apps in Xamarin, which can run on Android and IOS cellphones.

When you study our 2-year full-time software development course, you will have more practical time learning and writing code than most 3-year degrees. This means no peripheral papers or unrelated subjects, as required in most university degrees. This programme only requires 2-days a week in class with the additional option of one-on-one tutorials available when needed. This allows you to do self-directed study and part-time work. Small class sizes allow our tutors to be hands-on with their students learning.

Some of our graduates have moved into software development roles across a wide range of industries, such as education and e-learning, shipping and freight, healthcare, business and data management and artificial intelligence.
