I have been working at Activate Training Centre for the past four and a half years in various roles, most recently joining as the ICT and Business Technology Head of School. The most enjoyable aspect of my job is establishing relationships with tutors, whanau and students as I believe strongly that working together will have a lifelong positive effect. I am committed to the success of students and will do everything that I possibly can to “move mountains” for them. Through patience and determination on both our parts, I have been able to see how students’ lives have been changed through learning and the generational effect this has had. In my spare time I enjoy mushing as I belong to the NZ Foundation of Sled Dog Sports. My qualifications include: Bachelor of Science in Psychology: Clinical Research and Counselling; National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Level 5); Qualified Mental Health Professional (USA) and a Postgraduate Certificate in IT.

Business Organisation & Management is the subject of my interest. I completed a Bachelor of Education with Commerce in India. I taught business studies and accountancy for seven years in India. Then, I moved to the beautiful country of New Zealand in 2017 and studied PGDipEd at Victoria University of Wellington. I finished my study and grabbed the opportunity to work as a business technology tutor in Hamilton, New Zealand.

I enjoy my role at Vision College as it offers me a platform to work with a multicultural team and an opportunity to assist learners in their learning to achieve their educational goals.

Hi, my name is Val. I have a Bachelor of Applied Information Systems - Majoring in training and a Post Graduate diploma in Computing - Majoring in Training. What I most enjoy about my role at Vision College, is the pleasure I gain in seeing people achieving, albeit – in the units or just having confidence in themselves. People have described me as being caring, passionate and cheeky. I enjoy spending time with family, gardening, antique china, little theatre and competition badminton. I travel to Australia every year for a five day tournament with 4-500 women competing and last year in Melbourne we won our grade. Lastly I love to travel.
