Ultimate 2.0 follows on from Ultimate to further equip students with the necessary skills for basic employment or further study. Over 20 weeks, students can gain an NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 2) and credits towards NCEA Level 1 and 2.
This course is designed for students continuing on from Ultimate, or 16-19 year olds who may already have NCEA Level 1 and are looking for a course that will provide them with valuable life skills, employment skills, and a look into the different career and study options they can work towards. Students who complete both levels of Ultimate have the opportunity to finish with two Foundation Skill qualifications and even achieve NCEA Level 1 and 2 in just one year!
Ultimate 2.0 includes a combination of classroom and practical learning. There is a focus on generic business and technology knowledge, as the skills you will gain are very useful for a wide variety of higher-level study and employment opportunities. This programme provides valuable skills for the future by covering barista training and allowing students the option to sit their learners, restricted or forklift driving test. Throughout the course, you will also cover the topics of; learning and communicating ideas, interpersonal communication, document handling, finance management and problem-solving, as well as job and workplace fundamentals.
Upon completion of our Ultimate courses, students can pathway onto higher study with us. The Level 3 Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) is a direct pathway for this course, as students will have completed a course taster and several units around the topic of business technology. Successful students of Ultimate 2.0 may also meet the requirements for some Level 5 programmes. Graduates can also move into entry-level work involving customer service or administration.
