Wanting a career in the security industry? The NZ Certificate in Security (Level 3) gives students the core skills required for employment in the security industry so that they can begin their pathway towards a range of careers in the security services, armed forces, police, corrections department and more.
This security course also gives students the opportunity to gain credits towards Level 3 NCEA. Plus graduates will also have the opportunity to receive their Certificate of Approval (COA), an essential requirement when working in the security industry in New Zealand.
Over the duration of the security course, you will gain a broad range of skills and knowledge common to all security officers, use of security equipment, effective communication, professional security practice, knowledge of law and industry, health and safety, and risk awareness. You will learn both in the classroom and through practical and physical application. Personal appearance such as hair and general tidiness will be monitored in line with the security industry standards.
Successful graduates can move into employment in a range of security roles. This security training is also designed to provide a pathway into further training in the police or defence forces.

NZ Certificate in Security (Level 3)
Police officers work to prevent and solve crime, keep the peace, and respond to criminal activities and emergencies.
Corrections officers are responsible for the safe, secure and humane containment of prisoners. They manage prisoners' sentence plans and rehabilitation programmes to help reduce reoffending.
Security officers/guards patrol or guard an area or building to prevent fire, trespassing, theft or vandalism. They may also complete investigations for individuals and businesses, or provide personal protection to a client.

You don't need to be fit to begin with! Over the duration of the Security course, we'll train you up to the physical fitness requirements for the industry
We prefer to only take on students who are 17+ as you need to be 18 to gain you Certificate of Approval. The closer you are to 18 at the beginning of the security course, the better. We can still take on 16 year olds, however, they wont be able to get their certificate of Approval during the security course.
