Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund

The Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund (TTAF) will support learners to undertake fees free vocational education and training.

TTAF will make a range of training programmes at sub-degree level free for learners, covering fees from 1 July 2020 until 31 December 2022. It is targeted towards industry skill needs where demand from employers for these skills are expected to stay strong or grow as New Zealand recovers from the impact of COVID-19.

The areas of study covered by TTAF are:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Level 3-7 sub-degree programmes in targeted areas delivered by tertiary providers
  • Industry training, outside of apprenticeships, in targeted areas

This fund covers fees from 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2022.

Will I still be eligible for Fees Free Study?

Yes, the TTAF does don't impact or use your existing Fees Free funding.
