This course is available to all aged 16 to 65. With strong industry connections for future jobs, you can complete the National Certificate in Early Childhood Education Level 5 plus NCEA Level 3 in just one year. If you would like to develop teaching skills and confidence, this course is an excellent first step towards becoming a qualified and registered teacher. Unlike universities, UE is not required, but NCEA Level 2 or higher is strongly recommended.


We offer small class sizes to allow for a nurturing environment and personal attention.


Graduates progress into work at Early Childhood centres, into higher level study, as Au Pairs overseas and as Childcare Coordinators at Club Med!

ECE Level 5

Au Pair

If you are over 20 then you could look at working overseas and seeing the world.  This is a skype interview (please excuse the quality) with Kelly who passed our course and now works in Washington DC, America.



Club Med resorts

Vision College Early Childhood graduates will be invited to apply for childcare roles at Club Med resorts!

This exciting opportunity is open to Vision College Early Childhood graduates, aged 20 and up.


Each Club Med resort has 2 to 3 Childcare Coordinators, catering for children from 4 months of age up to 12, with most being in the younger years. The position includes return airfares, all accommodation and meals and access to the resort’s facilities. On top of that, you would be paid a salary!

Childcare Coordinators are employed for either 6 or 12 months. The opportunity applies to Cub Med resorts in Malaysia, Bali, Thailand, China, Japan, The Maldives and Mauritius.

One Year full time

Students will develop a strong foundational grounding in essential Early Childhood Education knowledge. Plus throughout the year students will complete a minimum of 210 hours of placement time in Early Childhood Education Centres – giving you real hands-on experience in the workplace.

Vision College offers small classes (up to 25 students) and supportive staff, which creates a personal and productive learning environment.

ECE Entry Requirements 

 - Be a minimum age of 16 years old*
 - Attend an interview which may include completing a written and maths task
 - Supply two confidential referee reports
 - Complete a police vetting request**
 - Complete a Ministry of Justice check
 - Produce a statement of personal interest in the qualification
 - International students for whom English is a second language must also have an IELTS score of 5.0 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5.0, or a recognised equivalent test.


Provisional Entry

Provisional Entry may be granted to domestic applicants who do not meet the criteria above, but present evidence of ability to succeed and are able to show they are well prepared to study the programme.

* International students must be at least 18 years old.

** International students are required to obtain a police certificate from their country of origin.
