About This Course

Study this unique business diploma from within a Christian Internship. While working at a church or Christian based organisation, you can learn the skills to take your church to a new level. 

 This course involves a combination of online and weekend block courses.

Christian organisations and churches have a myriad of projects that require help to make happen. This is your opportunity to help them grow by undertaking an internship ad gaining a NZ Diploma in Business. 

 Some examples of projects that you can help your church with through the Diploma:

  • Setting up a database. Research and set up a technology solution for communication and growth.
  • Creating a marketing plan. Research and set up a plan that is likely to include social media, email communication and advertising.
  • Plan funding applications and sponsorship for a community event or service.
  • Plan for the planting of a new Church, through research, team formation and strategy.
  • Event planning, such as Christmas events and youth events
  • Research new outreach opportunities such as a childcare centre, education for youth or other forms of community support.

Internship Option

The diploma may be undertaken through an internship with a business or Church. Details of the work placement will be formalised in a learning agreement with the employer to allow for a mutually beneficial outcome. We will have local and online mentors available to support you to learn and succeed.

This is a one year NZ Diploma in Business (Level 5) that is primarily delivered through online learning. Short block courses in a central location are arranged at specific times of the year. While attendance is not compulsory they are highly recommended, as students may be challenged in graduating without attending these due to some of the project or group work that is undertaken.

The course is taught with a Christian focus by Christian tutors.

- You must be aged 16 years or over. If under the age of 20 you will require NCEA Level 2.
- No formal qualifications required for those 20 years or more.
- Have a signed workplace agreement, confirmed through consultation with the workplace to assure that you have the relevant opportunities to complete the assessments
- Complete an interview, either in person or by Skype.
- Have access to a computer, and may be required to demonstrate computer literacy sufficient to use the applications, communication and collaboration technologies required throughout the programme
- You must have sufficient literacy and numeracy skills to complete the programme. Where there is a concern you may be required to complete an English language or numeracy assessment.




The NZ Diploma in Business Level 5 will prepare you for:

Self-employment | Sales role




Fulltime for one year, while in paid employment or an internship. Delivery of the programme is through a blend of online and block courses.
