About This Course

Study part time while maintaining your current employment or internship. This unique work-based business diploma is taught from a Christian perspective.  It is designed for people currently employed and who wish to improve their career prospects.

 

This course involves a combination of online and block courses and can be studied over one year or two.

 

Studying over one year involves two papers per 8-week block, or this can be spaced over two years, which reduces study to a manageable single paper in each block.

Internship Option

The diploma may be undertaken through an internship with a business or Church. Details of the work placement will be formalised in a learning agreement with the employer to allow for a mutually beneficial outcome. We will have local and online mentors available to support you to learn and succeed.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This is a one year NZ Diploma in Business (Level 5) that is primarily delivered through online learning. Short block courses in a central location are arranged at specific times of the year. While attendance is not compulsory they are highly recommended, as students may be challenged in graduating without attending these due to some of the project or group work that is undertaken.

The course is taught with a Christian focus by Christian tutors.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

- You must be aged 16 years or over. If under the age of 20 you will require NCEA Level 2.
- No formal qualifications required for those 20 years or more.
- Have a signed workplace agreement, confirmed through consultation with the workplace to assure that you have the relevant opportunities to complete the assessments
- Complete an interview, either in person or by Skype.
- Have access to a computer, and may be required to demonstrate computer literacy sufficient to use the applications, communication and collaboration technologies required throughout the programme
- You must have sufficient literacy and numeracy skills to complete the programme. Where there is a concern you may be required to complete an English language or numeracy assessment.
